To empower students to take ownership of their own wellbeing and contribute to the wellbeing of others
Wellbeing in our Kahui Ako - Link (COMING SOON!)
PLC Session Five
This session our MKA trialed three cluster meeting options. These were held in weeks one and two (Tuesday midday, Thursday after school Tuesday morning).
Over these sessions we took a more critical look at two hauora models. We had great discussion around the content and use of the Whare Tapa Wha and Fonofale models within our contexts.
We also introduced the use of our shared collaborative resource. This resource is intended to collate current resources and practices that have been successful in promoting the wellbeing of students within our MKA. We can't wait for everyone to add
PLC Session Four
Another worthwhile session, which we ran both face to face and online. We asked:
What is a specific wellbeing issue for you?
There was robust discussion of these current problems (hunches) in relation to our contexts (classroom-wide, school-wide and COL-wide).
The next few sessions will build on this korero. We aim to explore wellbeing models and work towards developing a shared wellbeing resource, to improve outcomes for our students within our Kahui Ako.
PLC Session Three
This session built on teacher voice in wellbeing by looking into stress, coping and resilience.
Thank you to Paul for sharing his knowledge of the Resilience Project. Your resources are valuable. The GEM activity and the 3A's are a few helpful tasks that can be adapted and used in both primary and secondary settings.
We also had a teacher share this website with us. There are some helpful updates, perspectives and resources for teachers to promote wellbeing awareness in their schools and classrooms. Thank you!
We encourage the sharing of expertise within our Kahui Ako and look forward to next session. Keep practicing resilience, take care and kia kaha.
PLC Session Two
It was great to see so many familiar faces at our second online ZOOM PLC session.
We shared a teacher wellbeing reading and a '5 ways to wellbeing' resource. Thank you to those who shared their stories on our shared Google Slides. We hope to build on this korero and explore this content throughout the year.
PLC Session One
A big thank you to everyone who attended our first PLC hui for the year. It was nice to meet everyone face to face and share ideas around wellbeing.
At this session we defined wellbeing, and thought about what areas we wanted to develop further. We also looked at two models of wellbeing.
