Student Agency

PLC Session Four - 25.06.2020

Session 4 - Thursday 25th June
In our most recent Student Agency PLC, participants started to develop statements for our evolving MKA Student Agency Rubric.

We hope that you can join us for our next PLC.
To cater to as many participants as possible we will be holding our next PLC on three different dates, at three different times, in three different locations -
Tuesday 21st July from 12pm-1pm at Sir Douglas Bader IntermediateWednesday 22nd July from 7.30am-8.30am at Mangere CollegeThursday 23rd July from 3.30pm-4.30pm at Mangere Central School

PLC Session Three - 14.05.2020

Session 3 - Thursday 14th May via Googlemeet
Session three saw participants share the characteristics and qualities of highly agentic learners in their schools.
The thought of developing an MKA Student Agency Rubric brings up a lot of questions. Some great ideas/suggestions and further questions emerged from our discussion about a potential rubric. This leaves us with plenty to think about moving forward.
Join us for our next session where we will be delving deeper in the choice and voice aspects of Student Agency. We will share practices and expertise that develop and embed student agency amongst our teachers and learners

PLC Session Two - 23.04.2020

Session 2 - Thursday 23rd April via Zoom
Our second Student Agency PLC took place remotely today.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff from our 9 schools who joined us.
We have identified a range of next steps to further build our knowledge and understanding of Student Agency across our Kahui Ako.
We look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting.

PLC Session One - 12.03.2020

Session 1 - 12th March 2020
A big thank you to those who attended our first Student Agency PLC.
Our discussion revolved around the 7 aspects of Student Agency...
Self Efficacy, Ownership, Purpose, Voice, Choice, Motivation and Engagement
It was a great opportunity for us to share what agentic practice currently looks, sounds, and feels like in our classrooms.
There was an identified need to further unpack the individual aspects of Student Agency.
We will be emailing those who have already registered with us, the details of our next Student Agency PLC.
We encourage new teachers to join us too!
